Is this really free? How?
This site is 100% free. We make money solely through ads.
Can I keep redeeming points for movies?
Yep. There's no limit to how much you can redeem.
Where did you guys get all of this info?
All of the data on movies and actors comes from Wikipedia's info boxes.
Did you guys collect the data yourselves?
What kinds of questions do you guys ask?
We have two types of questions: those about movies and those about actors.
Movie questions mostly deal with casts, directors and release numbers. Actor questions
mostly deal with filmographies and biographies.
How'd you guys come up with these questions?
We wrote a program to go through each movie and actor and automatically
generate questions for them. We then computed a "difficulty" rating for each question, so
we can give you easier questions initially and tougher ones later.
How did you compute difficulty ratings?
We think that questions about a movie are easier if the movie is more recent
and if it's more well-known. We have the release year, so to measure popularity, we went to
IMDb.com and collected the number of votes each movie has received.
For actors, we just use the number of movies each actor has been in. Both rating schemes use a skewed
Gaussian distribution to favor easier questions.
I have more questions.
